Review - Biore Cleansing Oil : Removes Makeup and Hassles!

I'm going to introduce to the latest addition to my make up bag, the trustworthy Biore Cleansing Oil.

Biore Cleansing Oil
Before I go further, I want to share with you that I was using only Johnson's Baby Oil to remove my makeup. I didn't look for an actual makeup remover before because the baby oil works just well. It's cheap, it's effective. I just slightly wet a cotton pad with just a few drops of baby oil and wipe my face. It takes EVERYTHING off.  But  then whenever I have to take off my makeup in the office (before prayers) and i run out of cotton pads, that's when the stress begins. Sure, I can just pour the baby oil on my palm and dab it on the face, but without the cotton pad, some of the dirt doesn't really come off. So I was looking for a product that:

A. Is cheap
B. Doesn't need cotton pad to use
C. Takes off all the makeup, including those tough eyeliners and globs of waterproof mascara

I was strolling around my favourite drugstore outlet-Watson's, to replenish my facial cleanser stock when I stumbled across the words 'without cotton pad' and beside it a picture of fingers running along the eyelids removing eye makeup! 'Aha! Love!' I grabbed the bottle, saw the price tag-RM22.90; and that's when suddenly I was hesitant. It's a bit more than what I would spend for a makeup remover. But then I remembered the hassle of the cotton pad and baby oil combo, I decided to just give it a try. Also, I was thinking of sharing the review with you guys here.

I took the bottle home and snapped a few pictures:

It says:  Effectively dissolves and lifts away heavy makeup, even on wet skin!
Also: No.1 makeup remover in Japan in 2009.

The magical words : Without cotton pads =)

The functions and usage directions, all telling me that it's a fantastic product.
Here are the product details:

Net weight   : 150 ml
Price             : RM22.90
Others           : Has a pump nozzle for a hassle free dispense

As usual, to put the product to test, I have done for you a little experiment. I wore a quite heavy eye makeup inspired by Michelle Phan's turorial 'Elegant Masquerade'. Here's how my makeup 'attempt' looks like:

OK, OK....It doesn't look like her tutorial much..but the slight idea is there.
I had on foundation, concealer, black eye shadow, eyeliner, globs of mascara, blush and lip colour.

Time to take 'em all off:

This is the amount you need for the whole face. Just 1 pump.

Use (clean) bare fingers to wipe off the makeup!

All across the eyes

The make up slides right off!

Left side : After removing with Biore Cleansing Oil . If you can see, that side of my face is totally cleared from makeup; and this using the product and my fingers only!

No residue of makeup in eye area. Eye shadow, eye liner and mascara all wiped off clean.

Moving on to the right side of the face.

Make up slides off

My face is cleared from makeup! After the product dissolves the makeup, rinse your face with water and wash with facial cleanser.
This product does not require you to use a cotton pad to remove the makeup, but I took a pad and wiped my face just to show you the makeup it lifted. Also, to show you how your skin can break out due to the makeup that clogs your pores. So please, please remember to ALWAYS remove your makeup before bed.

My face after I rinsing off Biore Clensing Oil and wash with facial cleanser. Clean!
(Oh and I apologize for the acne scars. I was breaking out like hell after I used Revlon Photoready Foundation, like I mentioned in my earlier post. I'm applying Vitamin E oil on the scars every night now, to reduce the discolouration)
I hope the photos help you a lot in explaining how the product works and how great it is. To sum it up, as usual, here are the Pro's and Con's:

Pro's:
1. It doesn't require cotton pads to use!
2. It can be used on BOTH wet and dry skin.
3. It comes with a pump nozzle which makes application easy, keeps the product hygienic and suitable for travelling!
4.Only needs a pump of product for the whole face.
5. It's for the whole face, not only for eyes or only for lips, like most drugstore products' makeup removers.
6. It takes off everything. So go on and wear your waterproof foundation/mascara/eye liner not having to worry about taking 'em all off later.
7. It's suitable for all skin types-it does not clog pores and is gentle on skin.
Con's
1. It can sting the eyes if you're not careful.
2. It's a bit pricey. Here are a few comparisons of drugstore products:
Maybelline Makeup Remover (Eye and Lip) (110ml)   - RM12.90
Silky Girl Hydra Girl Makeup Remover (165ml)              - RM12.90
ZA Deep Cleansing Oil (100ml)                                       - RM19.00

Conclusion:
Biore Cleansing oil is a permanent member in my Makeup Bag. It's worth the price as it is effective & best of all, it's practical. I will surely repurchase this!
